Hrvoje Petek Honored by American Chemical Society
Hrvoje Petek, R.K. Mellon Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, has received the Ahmed Zewali Award in Ultrafast Science & Technology from the American Chemical Society. The award is sponsored by the Ahmed Zewali Endowment fund established by the Newport Corporation to recognize outstanding and creative contributions to fundamental discoveries or inventions in ultrafast science & technology in areas of physics, chemistry, biology, or related fields. The award will consist of $5,000 and a certificate. Up to $2,500 for travel expenses to the meeting at which the award will be presented will be reimbursed. Petek will be honored during an awards ceremony April 2 during the 257th ACS national meeting in Orlando.
