Dr. Yang is a professor in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.  Her group has strengths in computer architecture, microprocessor architectures and memory technologies addressing issues in performance, security, and reliability. Recent foci are on architectural security threats and defenses, GPU architecture, DRAM and processing-in-memory, acceleration for machine learning, and error mitigation for quantum mitigation. In the area of quantum computing, Dr. Yang aims to enhance its fidelity from various angles such as suppressing noise, post processing, developing error correction code etc.
