PQI 2024 Event

Public Lecture: Professor Robert Schoelkopf (Yale University)

Schoelkopf's focus is quantum transport, single-electron devices, & charge dynamics in nanostructures. His research is in quantum-effect & single-electron devices for fundamental physical studies and for applications.

The PQI annual event works to bring together a broad audience of quantum community members through presentations of recent work done in the field by leading scientists and lively discussions among attendees. This event is in person, our schedule is available below.

At PQI 2024, we will explore three topics of interest to all of our members.  First, a panel will discuss government quantum priorities and funding opportunities.  Accepted speakers include Dr. Jacob Taylor (NIST), Dr. Alexander Cronin (NSF), and Dr. Michael Demarco (LPS).  Next, we will explore materials needed for quantum science.  Accepted speakers for this session include Professor Susanne Stemmer (UCSB), Professor Javad Shabani (NYU), and Professor Nitin Samarth (PSU).  Third, we will explore designs and tools required to build a quantum computing environment, and speakers include Dr. Yunong Shi (Amazon), and Professor Yufei Ding (UCSD). Finally, PQI 2024 will also feature a poster session for students to present their work, with the best posters earning prizes.

PQI Best Poster Awards

PQI will honor the three best posters presented by current CMU, Duquesne, and Pitt students at the event with $1,000 travel awards.

Students interested in participating in the poster session must indicate that on their registration and provide a tentative title for their poster. PQI will provide easels and foam boards, students are responsible for printing their own posters at 36x48 in. Create your poster now using the
PQI Template!

To avoid interfering with presentations, posters are to be set up during lunch.
